Brief Description of the Blended Learning Course

The American Heart Association Blended Learning Certification courses offer convenience with a mix of virtual training and in-person training.

Part 1: American Heart Association online course
Students are emailed access to the course work to be completed on the American Heart Association website. Students work at their own pace with the flexibility of completing the online portion either at work, home, or wherever internet access is available. Once the student has completed all of the course work, the student prints the course completion certificate to give to an Authorized AHA Instructor for Part 2.

Part 2: Hands-on skills practice/testing session with an Authorized AHA Instructor
The student meets with an Authorized AHA Instructor for a 30-minute hands-on practical skills test session. In this instructor-lead session, the hands-on portion includes a skills practice and test. The student must demonstrate proficiency during the skills test as outlined on the AHA Skills Testing Checklist designated for the chosen course.

The designated certification course is complete after finishing both Part 1 and Part 2 of the course. Upon successful completion of the skills demonstration, students will receive their designated American Heart Association certification eCard which is valid for 2 years.
